The woods were silent. The thin long trees stood like statues in the crisp cold snow. Squirrels scuttled along the ivory white paths. You could smell the odour of pine coming from the still trees. Stumped trees kneeled down into the snow. The air was brisk and swung from side to side. You could feel the rigid hard bark engraved on the logs.
